Crawley: Armed Police Surround School
An 18-year-old man has been arrested after armed police were called to a secondary school in Crawley.
It's after three teenagers were seen with a firearm outside St Wilfrid's Comprhensive in Southgate on Wednesday at around 6pm.
We're told no-one was hurt tho.
Sussex Police said:
"A man was arrested for possession of a loaded air weapon in a public place after a woman reported seeing three teenagers with a firearm outside St Wilfrids Catholic Comprehensive School in St Wilfrids Way, Southgate, Crawley, at 6pm on Wednesday 9 October.
"A search of the area was carried out by officers and pupils and staff at a choir concert that was being held by another organisation at the school were told to stay inside. The road was also closed.
"A BB gun was located at a house in nearby Old Horsham Road and an 18-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards. The road and school re-opened at 7pm. No one was hurt. The man has been questioned and released on bail until 7 November."
